City police are seeking tips from the public to help identify a suspect wanted in connection to robberies of two convenient stories, earlier this month.
On May 17, at approximately 1:55 a.m. a male suspect entered a convenience store in the area of 82 Street and 160 Avenue and asked the store employee for cigarettes, said police in a Thursday release.
When the employee turned away, the suspect reportedly pulled out a machete and demanded cash. The employee turned over an unspecified amount of cash to the suspect, and the suspect fled the store.
On May 23, around 3 a.m., the same suspect entered a convenience store on 97 Street and 176 Avenue. He approached the counter and pulled out a machete, demanding cash.
The employee turned over an unspecified amount of cash and the suspect fled the scene.
“We are hopeful that someone will recognize the robbery suspect and report him to police,” said acting detective Bryce Ottenbreit of the robbery section.
“These types of robberies are especially concerning when a weapon is involved as someone could have been seriously injured.”
