A 34-year-old man is facing second-degree murder charges after a parking lot brawl led to a man being stabbed to death in central Edmonton Thursday.

At around 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, downtown police officers responded to a disturbance report of a fight between a large group of people at a parking lot near 108A Avenue and 98 Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Joshua Cardinal, 39, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics treated Cardinal on scene and took him to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
