The wife of TV medic, Dr Michael Mosley has said he was “an amazing man” who they “miss so much” in a tribute posted to social media on Saturday.

GP and health writer Clare Bailey Mosley added she will continue with the 67-year-old’s work, saying it “gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose.”

The doctor was found dead on the Greek Island of Symi, days after he went missing following a walk.

Bailey thanked people for messages in the Instagram tribute, shared two weeks after his body was discovered.

“The outpouring of love from so many people has meant a huge amount to me and my family,” she said.

“I very much want to continue with the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose.

“Michael was an amazing man. Thank you for seeing that too. We miss him so much.”

Mosley is believed to have died two-and-a-half hours after embarking on a walk that would turn deadly when, taking a wrong turn, he began a hazardous hike through rocky ground in scorching heat.

An initial autopsy concluded that Mosley died from natural causes and that there were no injuries on his body that could have caused his death.

In a poignant twist, Mosley had revealed he didn’t want to die early like his father during a final interview given before his sudden death.

Speaking with the The Telegraph in April, the British health guru said his father’s diagnosis of diabetes when aged in his 50s prompted him to adopt a healthier lifestyle

“When my GP told me I should start medication, it shouldn’t have been a shock, because my dad had developed diabetes around the same age, I was then 55,” Mosley said.

Mosley, a father of four, went on to describe how his dedication to overcoming diabetes came from wanting to be there for any potential grandchildren.
