A former monastery in Fulwood has been sold.

Located in St Vincent’s Road the Carmelite Monastery was listed for sale for £2million.

Agents CBRE confirmed to Blog Preston the property had been sold to a private buyer for an undisclosed sum.

The five-acre site was one of only 11 monasteries in England run by Carmelite nuns.

Last year – when on the market – CBRE described it was being a suitable site for a care or nursing home, senior living facility or education facility.

Included within the site are a chapel, choir rooms and residential accommodation with 20 bedrooms.
