Grimsargh’s Field Day returned for the annual parade and fun on Grimsargh Green.

Organised by the village’s Field Day Committee it attracted more than 2,000 people to support the events.

Chairman of the Grimsargh Field Day, Keith Middlebrough, told Blog Preston: “On the fourth Saturday of June each year, the village of Grimsargh is transformed from a quiet rural village into a cross between, Glastonbury, Vegas, and the Notting Hill carnival .

“The village echoes to the sound of drums, brass bands and laughter. The Field Day in Grimsargh is an event dedicated to giving visitors a feast of family entertainment, and festival food without emptying purses and wallets .

“Up and down the country people are paying a fortune in ticket prices to see the sort of acts that entertain the visitors to our Field Day.

“Fortunately, we have a dedicated team of volunteers, who work hard throughout the year to bring free entertainment to the thousands of people who throng onto the green, following the annual procession.”
