She admitted that she was ‘bothered’ by the fact that the scenes up for consideration were ‘out of context’[/caption]

Katherine, 62, plays Brooke Logan in the popular CBS soap opera.

The television star has been in the starring role since the show started in 1987.

Katherine has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy four times in the past, but has never won the accolade.

She’s now in with a chance of winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

“I didn’t expect it. I’m very picky when it comes to scenes that I submit, and sometimes I don’t submit, and I just don’t bother to submit for the Emmys. And in fact, this year, I didn’t want to,” she told People.

“Because when I go back and look at everything, I don’t like it. And I think that’s an actor’s perspective. You know what I mean? Then you get really picky about what you do.

“And then also if you’re thinking, ‘Oh, people are looking at your work out of context.’ And that bothers me. It’s like they don’t know the lead-up. They don’t know the story that’s been going on to lead up to that moment,” she explained.

The California native also admitted that she’d worked on her speech despite her reservations.

“I knew I had to. I’m not very good at speeches. I don’t love speaking in front of people. I’m an actress, but I like being in front of a camera, not in front of a bunch of people. But in case. You never know what’s going to happen, so you should be prepared.

“Every time I say it to myself, I say it differently. So I’m just hoping that the day of, if it were to happen, that I can get it all out. At least I have the bullet points.”

Katherine also shared that win or lose, she was excited to catch up with actors from other soaps.

“You end up in your little bubble and so it’s nice to be able to see people, people that you know just because you work in the same medium and people that maybe you’ve known through the years, but you just don’t have a chance to talk to.

“So it’s fun to just catch up, see everybody, hug everybody. Just wish everybody good luck and just… It’s amazing honestly.”

While Katherine has been honored with a nomination for her acting, The Bold and the Beautiful has faced criticism for its plotlines.

Fans voiced their fury when show villain Sheila Carter – played by Kimberlin Brown – was teasingly killed off.

Just as Sheila was about to be cremated, her fiancé Deacon Sharpe realized that the body wasn’t Sheila.

Instead, Sheila’s daughter-in-law Steffy Forrester had stabbed Sheila’s lookalike, Sugar.

Some fans weren’t convinced by the twist, and suggested that the reveal was predictable.

“Just as so many of us guessed,” one person slammed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Moral of the story. Never get too happy when you think Sheila Carter is dead!” another fan joked.
