M61 crash involving overturned vehicle causing major delays

There are major delays on the M61 near Preston due to an overturned vehicle.

Delays are expected until at least 7.30pm after the crash just north of Chorley and Junction 8.

The section of motorway, before it meets the M6, experiences high volumes of rush hour traffic which are delayed northbound due to the crash.

There are also delays on the M6 northbound from Junction 28 (Leyland) up to Junction 30.

The M6 southbound is also seeing congestion on the southbound side from Junction 32 through to the M61 junction.
