Nigerian Idol season 9 heats up! The competition narrowed from seven talented singers to a fierce six this week. With David Garland and Gracia saying goodbye last week, Mira Clear, Maio, Chioma, Chima, Lammy, and Stevie remain in the running. Unfortunately, Lady Ruth was voted off, leaving only six singers vying for the Nigerian Idol crown.
The top six tackled another demanding night, flexing their vocal talents on a mix of classics like Lionel Richie’s “Hello” and contemporary hits from their home country, including Sinach’s “Way Maker” and Johnny Drille’s “Papa.”

Mira Clear
Mira Clear lights up the stage with her rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell from the 1967 album “United.” Her vibrant vocals and energetic performance pay tribute to this classic duet.
Maio
Maio delivered a heartfelt performance of Johnny Drille’s “Papa” from his 2021 album “Before We Fall Asleep.” His soulful interpretation and emotional connection resonate deeply with the audience.
Chioma
Chioma delivers a powerful performance of Sinach’s inspirational hit “Way Maker” from her 2016 album “Way Maker (Live)“. Her heartfelt vocals and moving stage presence uplift the audience.
Chima
Chima captivated the audience with his rendition of Lionel Richie’s “Hello” from the 1984 album “Can’t Slow Down.” His soulful voice and emotional delivery breathed new life into this timeless ballad.
Lammy
Lammy thrilled the audience with his rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Speechless” from the 2001 album “Invincible.” His emotional depth and powerful vocals honour the King of Pop’s legacy.
Stevie
Stevie brings nostalgia to the stage with his rendition of Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” from their 1999 album “Millennium.” His charismatic performance and smooth vocals delight the audience.
At the end of their live performances, the contestants passionately appealed to viewers for their votes to stay in the race for the Nigerian Idol title
