Police cordon shuts down Fulwood road after suspicious package found

A police cordon is in place in Fulwood after a report of a suspicious package.

Officers were called to a report on Watling Street Road and have asked people to avoid the area as a precaution.

The road is closed between Fulwood Hall Lane and Duchy Avenue.

A spokesperson for police said: “We currently have a cordon in place in Watling Street Road, Fulwood.

“This was following a report that a suspicious package had been found outside a property. Our Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) colleagues are on their way and we would ask that people avoid the area as a precaution.

“We will update you when we can.”
