Preston’s Masonic Hall has been shortlisted to feature in a Showcase Anniversary Gallery for Heritage Open Days.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the first Heritage Open Days Festival, to celebrate they are creating a gallery of 30 events and venues which have made the days ‘magical’.

The Masonic Hall is the only location or event shortlisted from Preston and they are appealing for the public’s help to put the city on the map.

The final decision on who is featured is down to a public vote.

The hall was selected not only for the history of the building and artefacts inside but also for the way it has evolved into a community asset.

At each Heritage Open Day, Preston artists and photographers are given a free space in the ballroom to create an art exhibition, it is also open for weddings and parties and the Mayor regularly attends.
