A driver has been stopped by police for trying to record a video of a crash scene on the M6.

Two lanes of the M6 southbound remain shut between Junction 32 and Junction 31 after the crash involving multiple vehicles shortly before 7pm on Sunday (23 June).

Lancashire Police’s road unit said they pulled over a Range Rover.

A police spokesperson said: “Having released traffic held at the scene of an injury collision on M6 southbound, this driver was seen driving whilst holding their mobile phone to record a video of the scene.

“Using a mobile phone whilst driving is an offence. Driver stopped and reported.”

The penalty for using a mobile phone while driving is six points and a £200 fine.
