A speed camera inside Sydney's M8 tunnel that only kicked into operation in May collected the most revenue of any in the city that month.
The Westconnex M8 Tunnel at Newtown heading southbound has collected a whopping $1.3 million in fines from 1622 infringements since it was switched on in May.
Many of the cars photographed allegedly speeding were registered as "corporate vehicles", which attract a larger fine.

The Rozelle interchange eastbound at Rozelle was second for May, collecting $648,640 across 1612 fines, followed closely by the Westbound lane on the same interchange, which collected $553,132 in fines across 1417 offences.
The Westconnex M4 East Tunnel at Croydon westbound wasn't far behind in fourth place, raking in $549,599, followed by the Northconnex Tunnel at Normanhurst southbound which pulled in $546,266.
The Gold Coast Highway at Tweed Heads West heading southbound collected $528,469, making it the sixth most revenue-raising highway in the state.
The Westconnex M4 East Tunnel makes a reappearance as seventh on the list, collecting $394,925 across 560 fines in the eastbound lane.

Oxford Street at Darlinghurst eastbound pulled in $377,604 across 1528 fines in May, followed by Woodville Road at Chester Hill southbound, which collected $363,710.
Coming in at 10th was the Cross City Tunnel East at Sydney heading westbound, which raised $351,719 over 833 fines.
