A pocket bully is searching for a new home in and around Preston a year after being taken in by the RSPCA.

Moon has spent her five years being bred from and is now searching for a new forever home.

Ashleigh Kay, Manager at the branch’s animal centre, said: “Moon is such a sweetheart. Despite everything she has been through, she is an amazing dog to simply spend time with. She is a very affectionate and sweet girl, who loves her cuddles and lying on her back getting belly rubs. If you stop, she will do everything she can to get you to continue.

“Since Moon has been in our care she has been overlooked and we are not sure why – she is a beautiful and affectionate lady that craves human attention.”

Moon had found a new home previously but the family who take her on were no longer able to care for her due to their personal circumstances so she was returned to the RSPCA Preston and District Branch in Ribbleton.

Ashleigh said: “Moon has spent most of her life being bred and now she deserves to have a peaceful, loving life with a new family – all she wants is love, walks, food and a lot of snoozes.

On most occasions Moon really loves her walks and enjoys to sniff, run along with her people and take in her surroundings.

Ashleigh said: “She does sometimes seem concerned when people are passing or dogs are close by, she will stop and stare until she is ready to move on with her human.

“The only thing Moon is worried about in the home is the vacuum cleaner but we offer encouragement and praise and she will just take herself off onto the sofa to keep out of the way.

“She is also very polite at human meal times and will take herself off to her own bed. She can be left alone and is the most well behaved whilst her people are out. She will wake herself from deep snoozes to greet you with the waggiest of tails when you walk through the door and gives what we call ‘love taps’ on your chest.”

Moon can live with dog savvy-older children and would like to be the only pet in a home environment that is calm and relaxed.

Anyone interested in taking on Moon can contact the RSPCA on info@rspca-preston.org.uk and request an application form.
