What to watch today:
- Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer will both face a grilling by Sun readers on YouTube. Political Editor Harry Cole will host the hour-long special of the paper’s Never Mind the Ballots show, with Starmer first up at 5.30 p.m. and Sunak on at 6.10 p.m.
- Sunak is launching the Tories’ Scotland manifesto with Scottish leader Douglas Ross. He is expected to talk up plans to cut taxes including national insurance and press the party’s attacks on Labour’s tax policies.
- Starmer is under pressure to clarify Labour’s position on transgender issues after reports in several papers this morning.
- Labour is playing down talk of a massive landslide amid fears the polls could impact voter turnout.
- Nigel Farage is still under fire for claiming that NATO “provoked” Vladimir Putin into invading Ukraine. The Reform UK leader is holding a rally at midday in Maidstone before heading to the Southwest to speak in Newton Abbot at 7 p.m.
