A major fire at a farm building just off Preston New Road (A59) is sending smoke billowing across the road and the M6 on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services are on the scene of the fire which start around 6am on Wednesday (31 July).
Pictures show smoke billowing up and over Preston New Road which has a lane closed towards Blackburn.
There’s also speed restrictions on the M6 southbound approaching Junction 31 for Samlesbury due to the smoke on the carriageway.
The fire is at a farm building just off the A59 near the Brockholes Nature Reserve.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We currently have ten fire engines at reports of a building fire in Preston New Road, Samlesbury.
“If you can see or smell smoke, please keep your windows and doors closed. Please avoid the area.”
