Between construction, a major parade, and highway shutdowns, getting around the city will be trickier than usual.</p><p>In a comprehensive report released this Friday, March 14, <a href="https://mobilitemontreal.gouv.qc.ca/etat-du-reseau/fermetures-majeures/" target="_blank">the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility</a> (MTQ) listed the numerous obstacles that will put obstacles in the way of motorists.</p><p><span></span>And if you were hoping to avoid the hassle by taking <a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/tag/rem-montreal" target="_blank">the </a><span style=""><a href="https://www.mtlblog.com/tag/rem-montreal">REM</a></span>, think again β it's closed for the entire weekend.</p><p>With that in mind, here are a few areas you may want to avoid.</p> <h3><strong>Downtown: St. Patrick's Day parade closures</strong></h3> <p>Montreal's 200th St. Patrick's Day Parade is happening on Sunday, March 16, and several streets will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the festivities.</p><p>Full street closures include:</p> <ul> <li>Rue Clark (between de Maisonneuve & Ontario)</li> <li>Rue Jeanne-Mance (between de Maisonneuve & PrΓ©sident-Kennedy)</li> <li>Rue Saint-Alexandre (between Mayor & Sainte-Catherine)</li> <li>Rue City-Councillors (between Mayor & PrΓ©sident-Kennedy)</li> <li>Rue Towers (between Sainte-Catherine & de Maisonneuve)</li> <li>Boulevard de Maisonneuve (between Clark & Lambert-Closse)</li> <li>Rue Saint-Urbain (between de Maisonneuve & Ontario)</li> <li>Rue Sainte-Catherine (between Chomedey & Saint-Marc)</li></ul> <h3><strong>Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel & Highway 25</strong></h3> <p>The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel will be completely closed in both directions from Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m., and again Saturday at 11 p.m. to Sunday at 8 a.m.</p><p>Closures include:</p> <ul> <li>Highway 25 South: Blocked from Sherbrooke Street in Montreal to Route 132 on the South Shore.</li> <li>Highway 25 North: Closed from Exit 90 on Highway 20 West in Longueuil to Sherbrooke Street in Montreal.</li> <li>Avenue Souligny (Eastbound): Closed between Dickson and HonorΓ©-Beaugrand.</li> <li>Anjou Interchange: The A-40 West to A-25 South ramp will be closed overnight Friday to Saturday.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Highway 40 & Charles-de Gaulle Bridge</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Highway 40 West will be completely closed between Exit 96-E (A-640 East) and Boulevard Gouin from Friday 9:30 p.m. to Saturday 8:30 a.m., and again Sunday 10:30 p.m. to Monday 4 a.m.</li> <li>The Charles-de Gaulle Bridge will have only one lane open out of three from Saturday 8:30 a.m. to Sunday 10:30 p.m.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Highway 10 & Bonaventure</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Two out of three lanes on Highway 10 East (toward the Champlain Bridge) will be closed between Wellington Street and the Victoria Bridge from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.</li> <li>Exit 2 (Pierre-Dupuy Avenue) will remain open, and there will be extra police presence on Saturday night for the Canadiens game.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Other notable closures in Montreal</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Boulevard Pie-IX North: Closed between Notre-Dame & Hochelaga from Friday 11 p.m. to Sunday 10 p.m.</li> <li>Boulevard Robert-Bourassa South: Closed between Belmont & de la GauchetiΓ¨re from Saturday 7 a.m. to Sunday 7 p.m.</li> <li>Avenue Papineau: Contraflow traffic with one lane in each direction between Logan & RenΓ©-LΓ©vesque on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.</li></ul><div><br/></div><p><em>Love this?
