An opening date has been set for a new convenience store in Bamber Bridge.

The Co-op is set to open its newest store this Friday, 26 July, on Chorley Road between Bamber Bridge and Walton le Dale.

The 2,500 sq ft convenience store serves-up a Costa Coffee Express and an in-store bakery as well as fresh produce, everyday essentials, food-to-go and meal deals. Along with Fair-trade products, flowers, chilled beers, award-winning wines and free-from, vegan and plant-based products.

The new store, that will be open between 7am-10pm daily, has created 16 jobs for members of the local community.

The delivery of groceries will be introduced shortly after the shops launch via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats – groceries will be picked in store and delivered conveniently to your front door.

There will also be a parcel collection service, available through an InPost Locker, an ATM and a customer car park that includes a charging point for electric vehicles.

A soft plastic recycle unit will be available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ such as crisp packets, bread bags, yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers, and pet food pouches – ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recycled either through at home kerbside collections or through the in-store recycling unit.

Graham Warnock, Co-op Store Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store – we are looking forward to welcoming our members and customers into their brand-new Co-op. Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently.”
