“@CrackerBarrel what’s the point of offering curbside if it takes forever for my food to be brought out I’ve been waiting 15 minutes and still haven’t gotten my order,” one customer tweeted.

A representative of the fast-casual restaurant replied to the social media blast apologizing for the inconvenience.

They also offered to send the complaint to their guest relations team.

“@CrackerBarrel I placed a curbside order. Went to the pickup area. Checked in. Then waited. Ended up going inside where my order was put in a cubby for pick up,” another customer echoed.

“Why offer curbside pick up?”

A Cracker Barrel representative also responded to the second complaint and offered a similar apology.

According to their website, the restaurant’s curbside service lets customers order from their favorite Cracker Barrel location without ever leaving their car.

“It’s easy,” the company claims on their website.

In fact, Cracker Barrel outlines only four steps for customers to follow to place an online or mobile order for curbside pick-up.

That’s not the only reason consumers are breaking up with Cracker Barrel.

The chain is looking to modernize its image after years in business.

With declining customer counts and changing demographics, the company’s new CEO Julie Masino decided the store needed a fresh look.

“We’re just not as relevant as we once were,” she said.

The company embarked on a $700 million redesign of its stores to help bring the store into the 21st century.

How to use Cracker Barrel’s curbside pick-up

Follow these steps to place an order for pick-up:

  1. Place your takeout order online or use our mobile app and select the “curbside” option when checking out
  2. When you get to the store look for signage and a designated parking spot
  3. Check in using the “I’m Here” button in your order confirmation email. Let us know you’re here and give us your curbside parking spot number and make/model of your car
  4. A team member will bring your takeout order to your vehicle.

It redesigned its stores with a slightly less cluttered look and a new menu.

In response to a YouTube video of the report, hundreds of customers weighed in on the sleeker, more modern design.

“Gotta love the people that gotta fix what isn’t broken,” one said.

One customer said what they liked about Cracker Barrel was its decor.

Another diner said they wouldn’t be back if their local restaurant changed.
