Commenting on a Reddit post, user Hadapurpura broke down each step of her go-to hack.
“I bathe with honey every day,” the poster revealed.
She explained that she uses the ingredient in addition to soap rather than a substitution.
“As in, water, then soap, then rinse, then honey all over my face and body,” she said.
The Redditor recommended staying in the honey for five minutes before rinsing it off.
“I obviously shampoo and condition while I do that too,” she added.
While honey is known for its sticky consistency, the poster ensured a smooth application while bathing.
“Honey is surprisingly easy to apply once you’re damp,” she explained.
She recommended opting for a “raw and organic” honey for “any reputable brand.”
The Reddit user shared that she has been using the DIY technique for most of her life.
“Honey and sunscreen were my only skincare routine and it’s been awesome for 33 years,” she said.
The social media user revealed some of the benefits she has noticed from using honey.
“It not only helped me with my acne, but my skin feels soft and luminous, and I feel so damn clean,” she said.
The poster shared that she was considering adding a third ingredient to her skincare routine.
“Now I’m starting to add retinol to see if it agrees with me.”

The experts at the National Library of Medicine explained the role of honey in skincare.
“Historical records of honey skin uses date back to the earliest civilizations, showing that honey has been frequently used for its therapeutic virtues,” they said.
They added that honey “keeps the skin juvenile” and slows down wrinkle formation.
The professionals revealed that most skincare items contain up to a 10% concentration of the ingredient.
“Honey-based cosmetic products include lip ointments, cleansing milks, hydrating creams, after-sun, tonic lotions, shampoos, and conditioners,” they said.
