A man has died in hospital after a collision that was not reported to police.

The collision took place on 19 July between a Yamaha SXR900 motorbike and a Volkswagen Golf at the junction of Cuerdale Lane and Vicarage Lane in Samlesbury.

It was only when the coroner for Lancashire contacted police yesterday (24 July), after the death of the 77-year-old motorcyclist, that police were made aware of the incident.

“As part of our investigation I would urge anyone who may have CCTV, Dashcam footage, if they have witnessed the collision or have any information to please make contact on 101 quoting log 0523 of July 24 or email SCIU@lancashire.police.uk”
