Preston’s new MP will be decided in the early hours of Friday morning.
Ten candidates are standing in the constituency with all major parties represented and two noteworthy independent candidates.
A hustings event we hosted last month focused current state of Preston city centre, the conflict in Gaza and the location of the new Royal Preston Hospital – with the topics having been selected from suggestions made in advance by members of the audience.

Mark Hendrick is the incumbent MP having been elected as far back as 2000.
The result in Preston is expected to be confirmed at 3.30am and this article will be updated when that happens.
