A disability football centre based in Preston has won a donation in a community competition.

The Sir Tom Finney Disability Soccer Centre has been awarded £600 by local housebuilder, Taylor Wimpey, after being nominated to receive the donation by the community.

Residents in and around Cottam were asked to vote for a good cause that was local to the house builder’s Hayfield Park development.

The soccer centre is known for providing professional coaching, education and development to able-bodied and disabled children and adults.

It was chosen due to ‘the valuable work it does to provide members with opportunities to grow and thrive in sports’.
