Roads in Lea were closed off as emergency services attended ‘water incident’

Emergency services were called to a brook in Lea during Friday (26 July) evening.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent four crews to a ‘police-led incident’.

Around 6pm a section of Ainsdale Drive where it meets Lea Road was blocked off close to Savick Brook in Ashton-on-Ribble.

A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed four fire crews were sent along with a water incident crew.

Eyewitnesses told Blog Preston emergency services were responding to reports of ‘someone in the water’. It is understood the individual was brought to safety. Emergency services were on site for around an hour.

A section of the Guild Wheel was closed while emergency services worked at the scene.
