A total of 52,423 applications were reportedly submitted on the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) job application portal that was opened a few days ago.
These figures were confirmed as the OYOSUBEB announced that the job application portal for hiring Public Primary school teachers in Oyo State has been closed.
Naija News reports that the portal was initially opened on June 25, 2024, and remained active until July 9, 2024.
According to a statement signed and issued on Friday, July 12, by the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the closure of the portal was due to the expiration of the deadline.
He said: “We are impressed by this response, which shows that people are truly keen and excited to work with the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board. However, we are compelled to close the portal, as the deadline has passed.
“We received not less than 52,423 submitted applications within the number of days of opening the portal. That was impressive.
“After shutting the portal, our team has started sorting out the applications and picking the suitably qualified candidates, who will be contacted by the Board.”
The head of the Board mentioned that Governor Seyi Makinde places a high value on the primary education sector while highlighting the importance of other hiring-related elements.
He urged job seekers to be vigilant and avoid any misinformation that may circulate about the current hiring process, thereby empowering them to take an active role in their application.
Adeniran emphasized that the following step will involve the CBT test once the application process is completed.
He said the details regarding the test’s date, location, and time will be communicated to the candidates via their email and phone numbers.
Additionally, there has been a recent announcement that the Board is seeking collaboration with the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board.
This announcement came during a formal visit by the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board Chairman, Hon. Akeem Ige, to OYOSUBEB.
Dr. Adeniran mentioned that this collaboration will help streamline the process of documenting the retirement of primary school teachers.
He pointed out that, as the primary entity responsible for the retirement benefits of local government employees, including teachers, the Board must work closely with OYOSUBEB to ensure efficient operations.
