A popular Walton-le-Dale bar has announced that it is shutting its doors temporarily to allow the owners to take a break during a time that is usually quiet for business.

Taps and Wine, on Chorley Road, made the announcement as owners Debbie and Sean O’Hagan, who have run the bar since 2019, said they were taking a break.

The statement read: “To all our lovely customers we are so sorry to announce that we will be temporarily be closing our lovely Taps & Wine Bar after this forthcoming weekend.

“It is so sad that we are having to do this but as in the past we have always been very quiet in August so we feel now it is the best time for us to close and take a much needed break.

“We are not sure how long we will be closed for, but as always we will keep you all posted on our SM [social media] when we will be reopening ❤ xx

“We hope to see all of our lovely customers over the weekend to say a short goodbye to me & Sean and our fabulous bar staff who have been absolutely amazing for us. Thanks everyone for your support, Debbie.”

Blog Preston recently reported on the success of a Sunday lunch ‘pop up’ event at Taps and Wine, but regulars will now be waiting to see when, after this weekend, the bar opens its doors again.
