The 4th week in the Big Brother Naija No Loose Guard (BBNaija Season 9) has come and gone but boy, was it packed with the kind of drama we sure hoped it would.
Relationships were tested, tables were shaken, friendships were put on the rocks, and a lot of fun was had by most of the housemates. Another pair got evicted and the dynamics of the game were changed. Here is a recap of everything that happened:
Sunday Night (After the Live Eviction Show)
The eviction show saw the first double eviction of the season happen in which Streeze and Floruish got eliminated after the week’s custodians, Wanni x Handi used their ‘Save only’ power to save Beta.
With that done, the Custodian Challenge was closed and new dynamics were introduced to the game. The game was reset and the housemates now get to nominate each other for eviction, with viewers holding the ultimate power to save their faves.
Also, the ballot system that had been used to elect the Heads of House. came to an end heralding the reintroduction of the Head of House challenge in which the HOH will now have immunity and would be exempted from being nominated.
Monday; the first HOH games of the BBNaija No Loose Guard season
Sooj made a sweet move after proposing to Nelly with his great-grandmother’s necklace, saying, “In sickness and in health, I will stand by you. Do you agree to stand by me in those situations when the going gets rough. Do you promise to stand by me no matter the course?”, a question to which Nelly gleefully agreed.
Later in the day, the first Heads of House games were held, and after an intense showdown, Nelita emerged victorious, reclaiming their HoH crown, and winning immunity from evictions.
They also choose Sooj and Topher of Aces as their HoH condo guests. The housemates were later told to nominate two pairs for possible eviction which saw Beta, Chekas, Wanni x Handi, DoubleKay and Zinwe emerge as those on the chopping block.
Tuesday; more ships
After their nomination, Wanni x Handi had a talk in which they concluded that Zinwe was behind them being up for eviction on account of their close ties with Floruish, who were just evicted.
This, however, didn’t stop the twins from celebrating the eviction of their ‘enemies’ while also calling Mayor Frosh a liar who needs to “wear some man pants.”
Anita and Topher were recipients of back massages from each as well as Ocee who got a soothing one from Chizoba.
Ozee got teased about his flirtatious moves with Onyeka by Wanni X Handi but he insisted that people were just misreading his style.
Onyeka also fished for information about his mystery “ship” with Victoria after some cozy hand-touching was noticed. The two went on to share a sweet forehead kiss.
Wednesday; frustrations over chores
The Solly boat was rocked when a harmless joke Sooj made in week one about crushing on someone who’s already taken was spilt by Chinwe in front of Nelly. She was upset and confronted Sooj, asking for space afterwards.
The married couple were not left out of the drama as well. KellyRae was angry that Kassia touched Fairme David’s nipples, a play which didn’t sit well with him.
The Head of House, Nelita, tried sorting out the chore list this morning, but things got messy real quick. Fairme David complained about being stuck with toilet duty and got moved to sweep the lounge. Victoria and Kassia, also tired of kitchen work, made their frustrations known.
Thursday; a bad day for ‘relationships’
Topher, while speaking to Fairme David, admitted to having a ship outside the house. Tjay also got some good news about his wife giving birth to twins. Ben also got closer and cosier with Chizoba, even dropping marriage hints.
Kassia and Kellyrae had an emotional moment when they were alone in the bedroom where they couldn’t keep their hands off each other, while they kissed passionately.
Chinwe and Zion’s relationship hit an iceberg when she suggested they break up, citing a disconnect and more of a friend-zone vibe than romance. Zion disagreed and insisted that he had been putting in effort towards her.
Ocee confided in his bestie Chizoba about his fiancé and baby on the way outside the house while his twin, Ozee juggled attention from both Onyeka and Victoria.
Friday; a wager win
Wanni, in reaction to the close bond forming between Shaun and Onyeka, had a conversation with the latter where she opened up about her struggles with jealousy and insecurity and the emotional scars left by past relationships and family trauma.
She, however, acknowledged that her jealousy was not about Shaun or Onyeka and expressed regret for letting her insecurities get the best of her. Shaun also mentioned to Ben that he had no intention of pursuing anything with Onyeka and went ahead to tell Wanni he was disappointed that she felt that way.
Onyeka and Ozee had a conversation where they talked about their friendship in which the latter proudly said, “I’d take a bullet for you.”. Ozee who didn’t hide his feelings told Onyeka that she disgraced him with her public announcement declaring that Shaun is her bestie instead.
Topher found himself in a sticky situation after his real age and the age gap between him and Anita was revealed while having a chat with Ben, Shaun, Sooj, and Topher as they prepped for their wager.
Anita had previously made it clear that she doesn’t fancy younger men. Ben, armed with the juicy tidbit, couldn’t resist telling Anita who already suspected something was off and had clocked Topher’s real age as being five years younger than her.
Biggie’s wrath was unleashed as he handed out punishments to the housemates for their tardiness which included picking beans, a writing test and crawling around like animals.
Luckily for them, the night ended on a great note as they secured a whopping 100 per cent wager win. Their performance featured hilarious mimicking of each other and a dance-off that had everyone entertained earned them a deserving shopping spree.
Saturday; Gbedu and after-party fights
The No Loose Guard housemates turned up the heat and took beach party steeze to a whole new level at the Saturday Night Gbedu, delivering 100% vibes on vibes! They were dressed to impress in their beach party fits and they danced their troubles away. However, that party was the starter pack for some serious drama.
Wanni, who didn’t appreciate being treated like a child had a tiff with her twin sister, Handi which led to Shaun stepping in as a mediator. They both had a hard time sleeping afterwards with tears in their eyes.
The twins’ argument in turn caused friction between Fairme and Ocee after the latter reprimanded Fairme for wanting to interfere in the drama. Sooj and Nelly also had their spat after she got upset about him dancing with other female housemates.
Anita and Topher couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they went all out with some steamy kisses. Victoria linked up with Ozee for some deep chats and playful banter, even dropping a bombshell that Ozee is her second favourite person in the house.
Sunday; Zinwe’s exit
Sunday night saw Ebuka’s table-shaking skills at play, this he did with no reservations. He turned up the heat with his probing questions, asking Shaun if Wanni was just his second choice to which he responded, emphasizing that Wanni had always been his top choice, with no backup plan in sight.
Onyeka also got her time to shine when Ebuka asked her why she felt like a threat to the Aces’ relationship and brought up the butt spank that Sooj blamed on the alcohol. When asked about the brewing love triangle between herself, Ozee and Victoria, she made it clear that she’s all about respecting the friend zone and staying mindful of her place in the house.
The nominated housemates were then beckoned upon and the Zinwe duo, Chinwe and Zion were evicted from the show.
