All trains between Preston and Blackburn stopped after person dies

A person has died on the line between Preston and Blackburn this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene close to Mill Hill station in Blackburn at 4.30pm today (15 August) after reports of a fatal incident.

Blog Preston understands passengers on board the train to Preston have been informed that a person has died.

Lines between Blackburn and Preston are closed while emergency services attend the scene. Disruption is expected until 6.30pm.

A spokesperson for National Rail said: “The emergency services dealing with an incident between Blackburn and Preston. Whilst they do their work, all lines are closed.

“Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.”
