Asake is a household name in the Nigerian entertainment space after rising quickly to superstardom, thanks to back-to-back hit singles and two successful albums.
Earlier this year, the YBNL star announced his tour and an upcoming album titled “Lungu Boy,” which is now set for release on August 9, 2024.
‘Lungu Boy’ will be Asake’s third album in three years, continuing his impressive streak of hits.
His debut album ‘Mr. Money With The Vibes’ won Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards, and his second album ‘Work of Art’ featured the hit single ‘Lonely At The Top’, which set a record for the longest-charting song on TurnTable Top 100.
The 13-track Lungu Boy album will feature several big names, including Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American superstar Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmila.
This announcement follows a series of collaborations by the Lonely At The Top crooner, who has recently worked with artists like Zlatan, Ayra Starr, Victony, Tems, and Central Cee.
In 2024, he released ‘Only Me’ and ‘Wave’ featuring Central Cee, which is one of the tracks on ‘Lungu Boy’.
Asake is also gearing up for his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour, which will include performances at the famous O2 Arena, where he headlined in 2023, and the iconic Madison Square Garden, making him only the fourth Nigerian artist to headline the venue.
