NAPOLI’S hopes of getting a smashing deal for Romelu Lukaku might just have received an odd but positive omen on live TV.

Just as speculation over the Chelsea striker’s future was hotting up on Sky Sports News, a huge smash ‘n crash interrupted proceedings.

One presenter briefly looked away as they discussed Romelu Lukaku transfer talk[/caption]

One presenter instantly turned away to look when a massive, mysterious bang came from behind the studio glass.

However, the rest of the transfer debate carried on smoothly – without any explanation of the noise.

Lukaku, on the other hand, hasn’t made any such din about his situation at Stamford Bridge.

Some might think that’s in contrast with team-mate Raheem Sterling.

The English frontman’s agent released a statement sharing Sterling’s concern at his axing for Chelsea’s first Premier League game of the season – Sunday’s 2-0 loss against Manchester City.

But the future of Belgian hero Lukaku, 31, seems far closer to resolving.

Napoli have reportedly offered 30million euros  – nearly £26m – for the former Inter Milan and Roma loanee.

That formal bid for a season on loan is said to include an obligation to buy.

And that’s good news to anyone quirky enough to reckon the crashing sound in the studio could be an omen.

That’s because the discussion over Lukaku was precisely about such terms.

One presenter said at the time: “Napoli want Romelu Lukaku but Napoli being Napoli they are going to want a loan plus an obligation or an option.”

However, even if the ex-Manchester United man does move on this month, it still leaves Chelsea with a bulging squad full of unsettled fringe players.

Sterling, Atletico Madrid target Conor Gallagher and Ben Chilwell were among those omitted from the match-day party against City.
