A substantial cannabis farm has been uncovered in part of a nightclub in Preston.

Preston Police closed off Aqueduct Street during Sunday (4 August) evening after reports of ‘suspicious behaviour’.

Officers attended The Boiler House club which is close to the Bold Street turn of the road in Ashton-on-Ribble.

Following a search of the building officers discovered around 3,000 cannabis plants ‘at various stages of development’.

The plants have all been seized and officers also found evidence of electricity supplies being bypassed. A police presence remained at the scene in Aqueduct Street during Monday (5 August).

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.

The venue – known as The Boiler House – regularly hosted LGBTQ+ club nights. It is not know if it was still operating as a venue as neither the venue or related club nights had posted on social media for at least two years.

A spokesperson for the venue, previously known as The Boiler House, said they no longer owned the building and it had not operated as a venue for a number of years.

Previously it was a swingers club, known as Club Entic3.
