TWO college football teams agreed to a stunning rule change in a blowout game on Thursday night.
The FSC school Stephen F. Austin beat NAIA opponent North American 77-0 in a season-opener that was reduced to shorter third and fourth quarters.

Stephen F. Austin dominated in the first half, scoring touchdowns on 10 consecutive drives.
They outgained North American by a total yardage margin of 675-40.
The final touchdown in the first half gave the Lumberjacks a 70-0 lead.
With the score as lopsided as it was, the game went to 5-minute quarters in the second half.
The contest basically handed a mercy ending for the Stallions.
The rule change caused Stephen F. Austin to total just nine plays in the third quarter.
The Lumberjacks still went on to score their final touchdown in that drive.
Stephen F. Austin finished with 565 total yards of offense while North American posted just 43 yards.
The Stallions ran only 40 plays on offense and finished with 45 passing yards.
Both squads combined for 18 total offensive plays during the abbreviated second half.
A private university in Stafford, Texas, North American debuted football season in 2020.
The school joined the NAIA in 2022.
The Stallions went 1-10 last season and suffered a brutal 91-0 loss to FCS Portland State.
Stephen F. Austin won a 98-0 game against NAIA’s Warner in 2022.
The Lumberjacks will play North Texas in their next game on September 7.
North American will take on Wayland Baptist University on the same day.
