Fire crews spent nearly four hours tackling fire at derelict Penwortham building

Fire crews spent Thursday evening tackling a fire at an abandoned building in Penwortham.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Penwortham, Bamber Bridge and Preston to Factory Lane.

The fire took place in a derelict building down Factory Lane and started shortly before 5.30pm on Thursday (1 August).

A spokesperson for the fire service said crews were in attendance for three-and-a-half hours.

Smoke could be seen drifting from Factory Lane across Penwortham while the fire was put out.
