The first-ever Goosnargh Farmers Market food festival will take place next weekend.

Over 25 vendors are confirmed, offering a variety of products including hot food, cheese, sourdough breads, jams, baked goods, milkshakes and gin.

There will also be a family fun fair and performances by local music artists.

The event is organised by a small group who are from farming backgrounds, and who are committed to locally-sourced, homemade, and home-reared produce.

One of the group, Alex, told Blog Preston: “We recognise the importance of supporting local sources and providing high-quality products, and are dedicated to sustainability.

“In Goosnargh Farmers Market, we’ve found the perfect venue for this passion.

“The festival will be a celebration of the best that our local farmers and producers have to offer, giving them a platform to sell their goods directly to consumers.

“By doing so, we not only ensure the freshest produce reaches your table but also support the local economy and sustainable agricultural practices.”

The team is also planning a Christmas markets for later in the year, with community being an important element of what they do.

“Our events are designed to foster community spirit and create a vibrant hub for Goosnargh and beyond. We aim to bring people together and celebrate our local foodies.

“We are so lucky in Lancashire to be graced with all these fantastic businesses. Come and show them some support and have a family day out!”

Goosnargh Farmers Market Food Festival will take place at Whittingham and Goosnargh Sports & Social Club on Saturday 17 August from 9am to 4pm.
