Tosyn was a singer-songwriter with one album (‘Pop Rock Soul and Jara’). Two of her songs have been used as soundtracks for the short film “Ireti”. Tosyn wrote, sang, recorded and performed music.

As a recording artist and singer-songwriter, she has worked with artists like Skales, Rooftop MCs and Eva, as well as producers like Sess, Tintin, Coldflames, Dj Klem, Knighthouse, Micworx and Cobhams

She was also announced the winner in the Most Popular Media Personality category of this year’s NET Honours people’s choice award. Popular acts in the industry such as Falz, Simi, Sess and Moelogo came together to make a tribute song for her after she passed away.

Tosyn Bucknor was found dead by her husband, Aurelien Boyer, when he arrived at home from work on 19 November 2018. Her sister, Funke Bucknor Obruthe said through her Instagram account that Tosyn died due to sickle cell complications. She was born with sickle cell anaemia.

Following her death, a poem she had written a few days before her death surfaced online, where she allegedly predicted her death.

The veteran would have celebrated her 43rd year on earth today. Though she died from complications involving sickle cell disease, Tosyn Bucknor did put up a good fight and made sure to do a lot for those in her condition before she was taken away from us. A graduate of law from the University of Lagos, Tosyn was born with sickle cell anaemia which prompted her to start ‘These Genes Project’ to help people with the condition.

Tosyn Bucknor was well known for her interest in the upcoming space and for using her platform to give opportunities to young acts trying to establish themselves in the mainstream. She also did a lot to put the OAP and media personalities on the map and fought for them to get their flowers.

Today we celebrate an icon and a legend. The Net family wishes Tosyn Bucknor a happy post humorous birthday. Rest in Peace queen. You will live forever.
