Man found dead in outhouse in Ribbleton is named

An inquest will be held into the death of a man whose body was found in Preston last month. 

Emergency services were called to Watling Street Road, near Cromwell Road in Ribbleton, on the evening of July 2 when a man’s body was found in an outhouse at the property. The man has now been named as 58-year-old Paul Cottam.

At the time, a joint investigation was launched by Lancashire’s police and fire services, with the latter having attended the scene but not deployed any equipment.

Lancashire Police has now told Blog Preston that it has concluded its investigation and passed a file to the coroner. His inquest will take place at Preston Coroner’s Court on October 14.
