Preston firm H Parkinson Haulage enters administration

A Preston haulage firm that ran 85 lorries has entered administration.

H. Parkinson Haulage (HPH) appointed FRP Advisory, of Winckley Square, as administrators on 5 August, Companies House confirmed.

Established in 1953 by Harry Parkinson, the firm was still run by the Parkinson family and had sites in Walton-le-Dale, Fulwood, Walton Summit, Leyland and Chorley.

HPH had a licence for 85 HGV tractor units and 160 trailers when it went into administration.

The last available set of accounts for the haulier, which offered transport, warehousing, repair and maintenance, as well as ATF services, reported revenues of £16.3m in the year ending 30 June, 2023.

It had also returned to profit after making a pre-tax loss of £35,000 in 2022, with a pre-tax profit of £69,000.
