Detail on when the River Trader is due to heading up the River Ribble to Preston Docks has been confirmed.

Preston City Council has confirmed the River Trader is going to arrive between 12noon and 2pm on Wednesday (21 August).

The boat needs to wait for high tide to be able to make safe passage to the Docks and this is listed as Wednesday lunchtime.

During the course of Tuesday 20 August a crane has been spotted getting into position ready for the arrival of the transformer.

The large electrical transformer is then due to head from the Docks to the National Grid site at Penwortham during the course of Sunday (25 August) with rolling road closures in place throughout the morning as it makes its way there.

Preston Docks and Marina are due to re-open during Friday (23 August) if the winching of the transformer is successful.
