Manchester City midfielder Rodri has named his “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT), and surprisingly, it’s not the usual suspects, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rodri declared his team-mate at Manchester City, Kevin De Bruyne, as the GOAT during an interview at the PFA Awards on Tuesday night, August 20.

Note that De Bruyne, a 33-year-old Belgian midfielder, has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a Champions League title with Manchester City.

Hence, it wasn’t a big surprise when Rodri was asked to name his GOAT, and he hastily replied: “Kevin De Bruyne.”

Meanwhile, former Arsenal winger, Perry Groves has compared Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland to the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of goal-scoring prowess.

After Haaland notched his 91st goal in just 100 appearances for Manchester City in their recent 2-0 win against Chelsea, Groves praised his remarkable goal-scoring record.

He pointed out that Haaland’s numbers are on par with Messi and Ronaldo and even suggested that the Premier League is more competitive than La Liga, where both stars scored most of their career goals.

“Frightening. His numbers are up there with Messi and Ronaldo. And to be fair, La Liga is not as competitive as the Premier League”, Groves said on Premier League All Access.

“I didn’t think anybody would get anywhere near a goal a game in the Premier League. I know this is like all games, but even in the Premier League, he is virtually a goal a game.”
