It is no longer news that BBNaija is the most anticipated reality TV show in Africa and fans were really excited when it kicked off last Sunday. Barely one week after it kicked off, it has already lived up to its expectations and there’s so much more to come.
Connections have been formed, mini-quarrels have broken out, fun has been had, and drama has been served appropriately.
The theme of this season was unveiled last Sunday during the Season Premiere as “No Loose Guard“ with Ebuka making a comeback as the show host dripping in steeze and ushering viewers into the house.
Now, enter the housemates who are in pairs, Netng revealed all you need to know about the housemates in this article but here’s a quick recap
ZINWE: Chinwe and Zion are a couple; RADICALS: Fairme David and Michky are friends, gym buddies and both virgins; FLORUISH: DJ Flo and Rhuthee are long time friends; NDI NNE: Chinne and Nne are the niece and aunt pair; ACES: Sooj and Topher are also friends who are into fashion
SHATORIA: Shaun and Victoria are friends who met at a club in Dubai; WANNI X HANDI: Twin sisters Wanni and Handi are DJs; BETA: Ben and Tjay are friends brought together by Instagram; MBADIWE TWINS: Ocee and Ozee are the second set of identical twins and are lawyers and socialites from the renowned Mbadiwe family

Shortly after the introduction of the housemates, new twists for the season were revealed. First, the custodian challenge was announced which saw the winning pair not only securing immunity for the week but also inheriting a mystery card that holds the power that could influence either nominations or evictions.
For Week 1, the Ndi Nne pair (Chinne and Nne) won.
Another twist added was the Head of House ballot. This season, instead of playing for the Heads of House title, housemates had the power to bestow the privilege on their fellow housemates via a ballot system.
The pair with the highest tiles in their box becomes the new Heads of House. However, the Heads of House will not have any immunity attached to their position this season. For Week 1, the Mbadiwe Twins (Ocee and Ozee) won.
The third twist was the Immunity challenge and the week’s winner would be safe from the nomination process and thereby safe from possible eviction. For Week 1, Beta (Ben and Tjay) won.
At the end of the nominations, 12 pairs were up for possible eviction except the Ndi Nne pair and the Beta pair.
The connections we see after 1 week of BBNaija No Loose Guard
Throughout the week, as the housemates settled into the house, they began to make connections with the others. Shaun formed a unique connection with and admitted to liking both Wanni and Handi.
Also, Chinwe was onto Kassia and Kelly Rae, suspecting that they were an item but faking it. During her diary session, she told Biggie, “the way DoubleKay are moving, I think they are more than friends or probably married.”
Toby Forge also shared the same sentiments as well after Kassia almost lost her composure and almost kissed her husband in front of the housemates.
Thursday saw the No Loose Guard housemates enjoy their first Big Brother Naija pool party and fans were treated to an early dose of romance as Shaun and Wanni made their ship official as they shared their first kiss. It was indeed a fun night as they all gyrated to the music and vibes.
Then came the first wager task of the season on Friday. Their poor preparation saw them lose after staking 80%.
It was an emotional moment afterwards as the BBNaija No Loose Guard housemates reflected on their decisions and considered how they could improve their strategy for future challenges.
Saturday saw the housemates have a blast at their first Saturday night party with DJ Shawn on the wheels of steel.
From the aggressive jiggling of feminine assets to setting the dance floor on fire with dance moves plus the endless supply of alcohol, they sure had a lot of fun.
Sunday night saw the housemates get ready for the live eviction show. However, another twist to the season’s eviction was revealed: The viewers will vote to make sure their nominated faves stay above the bottom 4 because they don’t decide the pair who leave; the housemates are the ones that do.
Ebuka announced the Bottom 4 as Chekas, Tami, Streeze and Radicals and the remaining housemates were instructed by Biggie to vote who they wanted to leave. This saw the Tami duo, Damilola and Toyosi leave as the first evicted housemates of the season.
After the eviction show, Mayor Frosh and Toby Forge, known collectively as Streeze, emerged victorious in the Week 2 Custodian Challenge. This win secures their immunity from eviction for the week, ensuring their stay in Biggie’s house for at least another week.
