Wyre Council is urging entrepreneurs and successful companies to enter this year’s Wyre Business Awards.
Organised by Wyre Council, the Wyre Business Awards celebrate excellence across a diverse and wide range of businesses, showcasing those driving innovation and contributing to the borough’s economic growth.
The awards ceremony will be held on 12 November at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood and businesses have until Monday, 2 September, to enter.

Councillor Peter Le Marinel, planning policy and economic development portfolio holder at Wyre Council, said: “The awards are a fantastic way to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the amazing businesses driving economic growth in Wyre and, this year, our official media partner is Lancashire Business View, allowing us to promote our Wyre businesses to an even larger audience than ever before.
“This will be the 9th Wyre Business Awards and it’s always a spectacular event to be involved in and I would encourage any business to make an application.”
The awards have grown year on year and are attended by businesses, partner organisations, event sponsors and award judges from across Wyre and the Fylde coast.
With 14 categories to choose from, the awards offer opportunities for all local businesses to apply and shines a spotlight on the businesses in Wyre that have excelled in a variety of categories.
Categories for 2024 are:
- BOOST Growth Business of the Year
- Businessperson of the Year
- Chamber Low-Carbon Climate Action Award
- Community & Charity Organisation of the Year
- Corporate Social Responsibility Award
- Food, Drink & Accommodation Business of the Year
- Health, Beauty & Wellbeing Business of the Year
- Micro Business of the Year
- New Business of the Year
- Rural Business of the Year
- Small Business of the Year
- Social Media Award
- Team of the Year
- Tourism Business of the Year
An overall Wyre Business of the Year Award winner will be selected from among the winning entries for each category
Helen Taylor, director of Glazey Days in Fleetwood, winner of last year’s Social Media Award, said: “We are so proud to have won an award in our local area and can’t wait to apply for 2024.
“The awards are a great way to network with lots of other businesses across Wyre and these connections have become business friendships for life.”
