Controversial crossdresser Bobrisky, recently released from Kirikiri Correctional Center, has urged Nigerians to refrain from abusing the naira.

The social media celebrity, born Idris Okuneye, was seen leaving the prison in a luxury car alongside actress Eniola Ajao yesterday.

In a now-viral video, Bobrisky, also known as the ‘Mummy of Lagos,’ advised people to obey the law to avoid incarceration.

“You have to follow the rules and abide by the laws. Don’t spray money unless you want to become a landlord inside Kirikiri,” she said.

“Trust me, it is not just about killing or other criminal activities. Something light like this can actually take you to prison, so you need to be very careful.”

Bobrisky disclosed that she would be focusing on positive energy and gratitude towards her supportive friends.

Following her release, she hosted a celebration that included a luxurious boat cruise in Victoria Island, Lagos, attended by notable figures such as Moyo Lawal and Eniola Ajao.

Why Bobrisky went to jail

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12 by Lagos High Court judge Abimbola Awogboro for abusing the naira. The judge ruled that the sentence would commence on March 24, the day of her arrest, and did not include an option for a fine.

In April, Bobrisky filed an appeal against the six-month sentence, hoping the court of appeal would replace it with a fine of N50,000 for each of the four counts of naira abuse.
