As the Sugababes, Snow Patrol and Sting rocked Moor Park for the BBC Radio 2 In The Park there was one huge talking point – chairs.

Lots of people had been asking whether they could bring a chair in advance of the festival and many festival-goers chose to bring something to sit on for breaks during performances.

Organisers state in the festival’s rules: “Each person can bring one folding chair or shooting stick or picnic blanket on site.

“On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 they can only be set up within the designated area on site, as signposted and depicted.”

A map showed the area, bordered in red, where chairs could not be set up.

But the volume of chairs was high throughout the site and an announcement was made, before the Sugababes set, asking for people to fold away picnic blankets due to the volume of people on site.

Blog Preston was also contacted by a number of festival-goers concerned about it feeling very ‘cramped’ on the festival site in the area between the food stall island and where people had begun to pitch chairs looking towards the stage.

Blog Preston has contacted the BBC for further comment.
