Another week of the BBNaija Season 9 has been concluded, and we have another recap for you!

It has been 7 weeks already in the No Loose Guard House and things took a juicy turn this time around.

Here is everything that happened last week:

Sunday (After The Live Show); No Eviction

There was palpable relief in the BBNaija house after Ebuka announced that no one would be leaving as it was an eviction-free week. The housemates gathered in several groups to discuss their chances and guess what would happen next in the game with 16 housemates still left.

Tjay mentioned that they needed to strategize for the coming week while Anita and Topher took the opportunity to dig into deeper, more personal matters.

Monday; T-Jay becomes the new HOH

Monday saw the Tonita pair discussing their future outside the house with Topher sharing the baby names he had in mind – Gabriella for a girl, Uzoma and Topher Jr. for a boy.

However, Anita opted to keep things light and suggested they should “go with the flow” and described their bond as “a very special relationship, adding that she wasn’t in a rush to define things just yet.

Handi and Shaun also took the day to trash their issues with the guy opening up about the unique challenges of dating a twin which he admitted felt different.

Handi acknowledged that Shaun rarely admits when he’s wrong and confessed how she feels when someone close to her does something wrong, ending the chat with an apology for shutting him out.

Later that evening, the weekly HOH game was played and this saw Tjay emerge victorious as the new and second solo HOH win of the season.

Shortly after, in yet another surprising twist, Biggie announced a unique nomination process. Instead of the usual Diary Room nominations, housemates were assigned different spots around the house to write their nominations in secret.

They were given writing materials and had to keep their nominations confidential until Biggie prompted them to begin. This process saw Ben, Chizoba, Kassia, Kellyrae, Ozee, Shaun, Sooj, Topher, and Victoria up for possible eviction.

Unknown to the housemates, the nominations weren’t the only thing they were going to experience that night. Recall that when Biggie un-paired them in Week 6, they came back to meet the presence of the parrot and for a whole week, it eavesdropped on their every conversation, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

That night, the parrot finally spilt it all, starting with the gist about how a lot of the ships in the house first moved to a certain housemate before settling on their current partners.

It also revealed Onyeka’s comment about her sister Chizoba’s ship with Ben and how she will look away if they have any misunderstanding in their relationship.

This revelation sent shockwaves through the house but Onyeka set the record straight, saying the parrot’s words were taken out of context and defended herself against accusations, clarifying that her directness was misunderstood. She even addressed the parrot’s version of her conversation with Ben, saying it didn’t quite hit the mark.

Tuesday; Toke Makinwa’s surprise visit

In a bid to bring some excitement to the house, Biggie gave them a dance challenge. The housemates were split into four dance teams, each representing a different colour: Red, Blue, Mustard, and Green.

Team Blue: Ben, Chizoba, Nelly and Sooj

Team Green: Anita, Kassia, Shaun and Topher

Team Mustard: Handi, Ocee, Onyeka and Wanni

Team Red: Kellyrae, Ozee, Tjay and Victoria

Each team was tasked with practising their dance routines daily and performing them for the audience who are the judges. An overall winner would then be crowned.

A few hours later, the housemates were greeted with a special visit from Toke Makinwa and they were very happy to show her around, playing host. However, she hit them with some hard truths about how they were boring and highlighted that the house was in a ‘peaceful’ mode and some action was needed from them.

She advised them to take advantage of the opportunity of being in Biggie’s house and told them to forget about the outside world and focus on their game and having fun.

Later that evening, the BBNaija housemates had a lot to say in their diary sessions. While Kellyrae revealed that he wasn’t surprised to be up for eviction, Kassia, however, said she was shocked by Biggie’s decision to introduce face-to-face nominations, which had stirred up serious beef in the house.

She also said she wasn’t surprised her gist about Onyeka came up in the parrot’s revelations.

Wednesday: Lemon Lemon, Naughty Housemates

The day saw the housemates on Day 2 of their dance challenge as they competed for the coveted win.

However, it hadn’t been lost on them that Biggie had been a bit mean to them for the past few days with antics like snatching the table tennis bats, forcing housemates to use their slippers to play table tennis instead, withholding hot water, no more HoH perks, no sunglasses in the house, no more taking the duvets away from the bedrooms. fluctuating AC temperatures, the random coughing noises in the dead of night and creepy baby cries to mention a few.

They even sent Tjay, their HOH, to ask what they could do to make amends, as they sensed he might be upset with them. Wanni who also went for her diary session had her love letter from Shaun seized.

The Shanni ship conversed as they tried to predict who might leave the house with Shaun feeling that he, Ocee and Ozee, are the top male contenders in the house and putting Nelly as a strong female contender.

Sooj also spoke with Onyeka, venting his frustrations about housemates trying to make amends with those they nominated face-to-face with both agreeing that no one should have issues being nominated, as it’s all part of the game, and they also nominated others.

Later on, a game of “Lemon Lemon,” saw the naughty side of housemates unravel. Handi was asked to grind on KellyRae and let’s just say his wife, Kassia was not happy about it.

Thursday: More gossip and pool gyration

The housemates had Round 3 of their dance challenge rehearsals which went well despite how tired they were.

As if that was not enough, Biggie sent in a game for the housemates to play with Anita as the quiz master and Kassia, Nelly, Ozee, Shaun, and Wanni as team captains. Tjay convinced them that he would try to have a word with Biggie to loosen the reins a bit afterwards.

Ocee spoke to and confessed to Ozee his twin brother and Topher that he felt like a loser since the Tecno task was the last time he tasted victory.

Kassia and Victoria also took the afternoon to discuss their issues with Wanni and how she has been spoiling her boo Shaun by giving him two pieces of meat every time she cooks. She vowed to call out Wanni for “acting like she’s in her husband’s house and declared she was done with polite one-on-one conversations.

Shaun and Wanni talked about their relationship in the house and she said she observed that Shaun gets irritated and agitated when she doesn’t understand his point. She sought the opinion of other housemates about her perceived rudeness and got feedback from them.

That night, the housemates got to enjoy some much-needed reprieve as they danced and gyrated at the weekly pool party. Things quickly heated up and took a dramatic turn with Kellyrae and Handi dancing together in sync. They took it further as they went in the pool and teased each other with near kisses, smacking his bum as well at one point.

Friday: another big wager victory

Despite the housemates being exhausted between all the sponsored tasks and Biggie’s antics, they prepped for their big wager. Armed with the theme ‘Art Verse’ for their wager, they got to work.

They had been tasked with turning random waste into masterpieces with one of the major highlights of the exhibition being the creation of three giant masks which they designed using materials such as cardboard, beads, balloons, feathers, and straw. Kassia and Victoria led the charge with the first making an English gown made from paper plates and a dramatic train and the second, a sack dress layered with shiny gift wrap. Onyeka worked on an original poem to link their artistic pieces.

Tjay was given a brief which read that Team Mustard, Handi, Ocee, Onyeka, and Wanni were the winners of the dance challenge. Later, Ben dropped some sweet advice on Chizoba, telling her to enjoy herself and live her best life at the Saturday night party, noting how she went all out at the pool party, dancing like never before.

They headed to their wager presentation afterwards. The BBNaija housemates pulled it off, delivering a presentation that pleased Biggie. Although he called them out for their lack of teamwork, he acknowledged their effort and singled out Kassia and Victoria for the outstanding pieces they contributed to the presentation before announcing their wager win.

One would think the night would end on such a sweet note but that wasn’t the case. Onyeka, referencing a conversation revealed by the parrot earlier in the week, demanded to know who lied against her.

Kassia confronted her and admitted that she had made the statement about Onyeka using Handi and Wanni as pawns in the game. This quickly escalated into a full-blown fight involving Victoria.

The 3 cursed out each other as it became a shouting match with most of the housemates looking on but not stepping in to de-escalate the situation. Ozee tried to make peace as he sat down with both ladies in an attempt to calm things down.

Saturday: Sponsored tasks, mandatory gbedu

Most of the day was spent by the housemates taking sides on the fight that had happened the night before with the consensus being on Kassia and Victoria’s side. They also utilized the day to rest before they engaged in a sponsored task in the evening. They rounded up and got ready for the weekly Saturday Night party.

The housemates turned up in gorgeous outfits and brought their A-game to the dance floor, with Wanni and Handi leading the pack with their energetic moves.

When they got back into the house from the party, Biggie had a special treat of alcohol and banging music to keep the vibes going. Ben took on the role of the party’s unofficial bartender, making sure everyone had their fair share of booze.

Ozee and Victoria had a juicy conversation where he confessed that he knew the drama between Onyeka and Victoria after the wager would blow up and admitted he felt caught in the middle. He told Kassia and Victoria that they were “the best thing that happened to each other in the house. Victoria fed Ozee plantains, laid on his chest and the two had a close moment where their lips almost touched.

Wanni and Shaun had a post-party issue about her drinking which Handi reported to him and it didn’t sit well with him. Wanni tried to explain herself, saying Shaun was being defensive and things quickly escalated. Shaun predicted that Wanni would regret her words later to which she claimed he was trying to “subdue” her.

Sunday: Ben and Chizoba

The day started very chill with the housemates spending time in the salon getting ready for the Live Eviction Show which was the first individual eviction since the housemates were unpaired.

Ebuka came on the screen and kicked off his table-shaking antics with questions to some housemates about the happenings in the week.

Ocee was asked if he nominated Ben to get rid of him to which he responded it was purely for competition and not because of Chizoba. Shaun was also questioned about his relationship with Wanni to which he said he’s not “officially” Wanni’s boyfriend, though he’s okay with her calling herself his girlfriend.

Ebuka grilled Kassia on why she thought Onyeka’s closeness to the twins was a strategy, and she struggled to give a clear answer, mentioning two occasions where Onyeka said being overly involved in everyone’s business was a strategy, which had sparked her doubts and made her say that.

It was then time for evictions and this saw lovebirds Ben and Chizoba leave the house.

This leaves 14 housemates in Week 8 on the show. It’s left to see how the dynamics among them would play out from here on and what lies ahead for them.
