Work on improving Beacon Fell’s toilet block means temporary car park closures until the end of October.

Part of the main car park is sectioned off as work takes place on the Lancashire County Council owned site.

The pond close to the visitors centre is also seeing work take place.

A spokesperson for the county council said: “We are currently carrying out some work to refurbish the toilet facilities at Beacon Fell and have a number of contractors on site to carry out these works.

“Additionally, we are refurbishing the pond near to the visitor’s centre.

“We have arranged for these two projects to take place at the same time to minimise disturbance to the site into a shorter period of time.”

Work on the toilet block is due to be completed by the end of October.
