President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
This decision, announced in a statement by Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for all Nigerians.
With over 20 years of experience spanning business, politics, and engagement in the energy sector, Amachree is poised to tackle the country’s pressing energy challenges.
He holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of leadership in both public and private sectors, particularly in the Niger Delta region.
The newly established Energy Security Directorate will focus on critical areas including policy coordination, infrastructure protection strategies, data management, security coordination, risk advisory, and forming strategic alliances within the energy sector.
“As the new Director of Energy Security, Amachree will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, international partners, and community leaders,” the statement outlined.
The aim is to implement innovative solutions to Nigeria’s current and future energy challenges.
