Nigerian actress Sharon Ooja recently opened up about the remarkable story behind her marriage to Ugo Nwoke, sharing her journey of faith and personal transformation during a recent service at Harvesters International Church, led by Pastor Bolaji Idowu.
Sharon Ooja, who married Ugo in June, recounted how, despite her beauty and financial stability, she devoted herself to fervent prayers for a life partner.
Her turning point came during a filming project in the desert, where she experienced a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit.
During her time in the desert, disconnected from the outside world due to a lack of network coverage, Ooja felt a powerful message from the Holy Spirit urging her to release her burdens and focus on personal growth.
“The Holy Spirit asked me to let go of my burdens,” she said. “I was told to focus on myself, and that’s when I truly surrendered.”
The actress shared that her commitment to spiritual and personal development paved the way for her to meet Ugo. “God gave me the best husband in the world afterward,” she said, encouraging other believers to trust in divine timing and guidance.
Reflecting on her past, Ooja admitted that she once felt she was trying to play God in her own life.
“I used to think that beauty alone should grant me everything I wanted,” she revealed. “But through conversations with God and a pastor, I learned that true fulfillment required personal growth and self-awareness.” Sharon said
Sharon Ooja also recounted a pivotal moment from about six years ago when she spoke with Pastor Bolaji Idowu. She had expressed her desire for a partner who would provide for her financially. The pastor advised her to focus on developing herself instead, and that advice stayed with her.
Her transformative experience in the desert led to a spiritual awakening. “God stripped me of my own wisdom and gave me the best husband in the world,” she said. “When you align yourself with the Holy Spirit, the rewards are beyond what you can imagine.”
Sharon Ooja also shared that Ugo proposed to her just two months after they met, following a period of personal heartbreak for her. Her sister had introduced them at a time when Ooja needed emotional support and renewal.
