M6 and M61 delays at Preston as Friday rush hour traffic builds

Delays are building on a sunny Friday on the M6 near Preston.

There are delays of at least 10-minutes from the M61 northbound junction where it meets the M6 at Bamber Bridge.

And there’s delays and congestion on the M6 from Junction 29 to Junction 31 northbound, as of 3.45pm on Friday (6 September).

Traffic England is also showing delays on the M6 southbound from Junction 31A down to where it meets the M61.

The city is being told to prepare for a very busy 48-hours on the road network as BBC Radio 2 In The Park takes place in Moor Park.

Road closures will be in place on a number of roads surrounding the sites – particularly in the 9pm to 12midnight period as the festival site empties out.
