Afrobeats to the world takes another giant step forward as forerunners of the genre made appearances on the just released EA FC25 soundtrack. The soundtrack released today features songs that would be accessible and played during in game scenarios and acts like Omah Lay, Shallipopi and Rema had songs on the playlist.
Omah Lay’s hit song Moving off his yet to be released Clarity of Mind album was featured on the playlist. The up tempo record offers a calm groove suitable for gamers to relax and vibe to while engaging the video game set to be released by EA soon.
Rema and Shallipopi’s Benin Boys also made the playlist. The record off Rema’s sophomore album HEIS was one of the notable records on the playlist from Africa.
Another notable African act on the playlist was Moonchild Sanelly. The South African musician had two songs on the playlist namely Gwara Gwara and Big Man.
This isn’t the first time Nigerian acts would feature in the game as previous years have had acts like Fireboy Dml, BNXN, Pheelz and more feature on the game soundtrack.
FC 25 is set to be released to the public on the 20th of september 2024 and would cover the 2023/2024 football season. The EA SPORTS FC 25 soundtrack features 117 songs from artists across 27 countries including Billie Eilish, Fred again.., Ice Spice, Charli xcx, Glass Animals, J Balvin, JUMADIBA, and many more
