A search will resume this morning in waters off Victor Harbor in South Australia, after a 17-year-old boy was swept into the sea off Granite Island.
One witness suggested he'd been with family when he somehow ended up in the water.
Searchers in boats scoured the water as two helicopter crews hovered above.

Granite Island is popular with visitors, many of them sightseers who climb onto rocks close to the strong seas.
"We would like to thank the local community and emergency services for their assistance with the search," Superintendent Joanne Howard said.
"We will continue to search with the assistance of local emergency services and other resources tomorrow."
Victor Harbor is about 80 kilometres south of Adelaide.
