Tagovailoa took a scary hit to the head against the Buffalo Bills in the Dolphins’ Week 2 loss.
The 26-year-old’s career has been hit with injuries, dating back to his college days.
So Miami has helped Tua explore all of his options while he recovers during the four-week IR stint.
The Dolphins gave him time to meet with concussion specialists to deliberate his future.
Fans have called for Tua to consider retirement.
The 2023 Pro Bowler remains focused on continuing his NFL career.
ESPN reported that Tagovailoa wants to play football again, and in 2024.
Still, he cannot return until Week 7 at the earliest after Miami placed him on IR in Week 3.
The same report added that the Dolphins and Tua appear to agree about him being the long-term answer at the quarterback position, as the team trading for a signal-caller caller isn’t likely.
He also “feels fine” weeks after the Week 2 concussion.
Tagovailoa’s injury came after playing a full season in 2023, guiding Miami to having the No. 1 offense in the NFL.
But the Dolphins blew a three-game division lead, losing three of the last five games in the season and eventually losing in the AFC wild-card game.
Tua signed a four-year, $212.1 million contract after his career-campaign.
But he is now out due to injury and Miami was forced to use disapointing backups Skylar Thompson and Tim Boyle in their Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Dolphins could start Tyler Huntley at quarterback against the Tennesee Titans on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
Tagovailoa’s health is paramount in order for the team to have success.
In games Tua starts and finishes, Miami under Mike McDaniel are 20-11.
The Dolphins are just 1-7 in games the star misses or leaves early.
